The magic of the holiday season comes alive each year in Napa Valley as guests revel in the splendor and the good cheer of this special time. From special wine tasting events to seasonal tasting menus to a myriad of family-friendly activities, there is something for everyone this time of year in Napa Valley.

To help get you started on planning your festive getaway, here are five of the most popular activities of the season in the region to consider when organizing your itinerary:

HOLIDAY PAIRINGS: The season takes flight at V. Sattui Winery starting in November and continuing through January on select dates. Photo opportunities abound as the estate is decorated in all of its holiday fineries complete with an antique truck. A seasonal menu with complementing food and wine pairings showcase the very best of the tastes of the Napa Valley region.

NAPA ON ICE: After indulging in the cornucopia of available holiday eats and drinks, you can head to the Napa on Ice venue to burn off all of those calories. This outdoor ice rink boasts over 6,000 square feet of real ice. Open November 16 through January 6, this venue is located at the Napa Expo on 3rd street between Soscol Ave and Silverado Trail. Hours for open skate vary so be sure to check before you plan your day out on the ice.

HOLIDAYS IN YOUNTVILLE: Billing itself as the “Brightest Town in Napa Valley”, Yountville has a well-deserved reputation of splendor for its dazzling array of twinkling lights and many holiday activities. Visitors will delight in the special performances and activities that make this place so festive. Enjoy pictures with Santa, carriage rides through the beautifully decorated town, ugly sweater parties, and more as you spend the season in Yountville.

SANTA TRAIN: All aboard the jolliest train ride in the region, as the classic wine train has been transformed by a group of mischievous holiday elves. Passengers of all ages will love this magical train ride through the Napa Valley. Sip hot chocolate and nibble on holiday cookies as you sing Christmas carols with Santa himself.

JINGLE ALL THE WAY: Lyman Park is the scene for the city of St. Helena’s quaint holiday celebration. Visitors can choose from a wide variety of traditional activities, including ice skating, listening to festive music, nothing on the season’s best food offerings, and more.
